Weartech, founded in 1984, is a family based company now spanning three generations of the Wintle family. Adam and Simon Wintle are at the helm of the company that was started by their parents, and they are passionate about more than just supplying industry with what it needs.

For almost 40 years, Weartech has worked with a wide range of suppliers with long standing connections, such as Deloro Stellite and Kennametal, to bring their clients a comprehensive range of products. These products range for use in wear, corrosion and hardfacing applications, as well as maintenance and fabrication. They represent numerous thermal spray companies, such as Praxair, providing both materials and ancillary equipment with highly technical experience and expertise.

Weartech has three divisions operating nationwide. These offer different products, which often compliment each other in the industries they service, allowing them to offer their customers single supplier simplicity, with decades of technical support experience.

Their focus shifts depending on the areas that they get enquiries for, looking at different types of materials and applications. Many of the products they sell are highly technical, which means a focus on providing excellent technical support for the products they sell, as opposed to just supplying to the customer. This sets Weartech apart as they see themselves as much more than suppliers of materials and equipment for the industries they service.

Weartech expresses interest in branching out to include more high entropy alloys like titanium and aluminium. Growth in the automotive industry for aluminium alloys, copper powder, and laser cladding, as well as new alloys for the additive manufacturing industry, are areas that Weartech says they are looking to in the future of their clients. They hope their efforts will help make technologies such as additive manufacturing more accessible.

“It is a complex process in using these alloys, so the technical support we offer is where we are of the most value in bringing those products to market”, Weartech concludes. Check out the Weartech website for more information: https://weartech.co.za/
